In a massive exercise following months of preparation and logistical effort and grassroots management, 3286 children from Parivaar Seva Kutirs in 19 districts (18 in MP and one in Chhattisgarh) from hundreds of highly interior tribal areas, appeared for the prestigious Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNVs) for admission into Grade 6. Hundreds of our Sevavratees were involved in transporting the children to as many as 102 examination centres spread across these districts.
The JNVs are high-quality residential CBSE schools run by Govt of India where the cost per student comes to 1.25 Lacs. There are limited seats in JNVs (there is one JNV on each district).
Last year 47 of our children made it to the JNVs. This year we hope to make it a three digit mark.
