Shobhabazar Rajbaari in North Kolkata is an iconic place where Swami Vivekananda delivered his first speech in Calcutta after his triumphant return from the West in 1897. Yesterday (25th Oct), at this location, I was deeply privileged to receive the Annual ‘Nivedita Samman’ from the Governor of West Bengal Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar. This Award is Nivedita Samman Award

The recent Global Hunger Report has put India at no 102 spot, below even Ethiopia and Rwanda (not just Pakistan and Bangladesh). 22 thousand sets of dress for 11 thousand children in 130 tribal villages in MP

On the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashami we have brought out new dress (T-shirts) for our children across 130 Seva Kutirs in 5 districts. This massive size-measurements and tailoring exercise took a few months. The T-shirt’s front has Vivekananda’s exhortation in Hindi ‘He Bharat, Utho Jago’ along with his picture. Inaugurating Parivaar ‘Vivek Ganga’ : Massive Youth Motivation and Engagement Program

Friends, our Parivaar Madhya Pradesh team has taken upon itself to do a massive Youth Motivation and Contact Program across at least 50 rural and small-town colleges this year (across 5 districts where our Seva Kutirs are operating) where we are conducting seminars in various colleges. Much like last year where Parivaar team came 1st out of 48 teams from whole of Eastern India in unique Mixed (boys and girls) football tournament held in Kolkata, this year too they performed brilliantly, though ended up as Runner-up. Iti Tudu was adjudged the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ and Papiya Mandal was specially awarded for the Parivaar girl footballers shine again

Opening of 125th Parivaar Seva Kutir on 9/11 Day

On this very special day of 9/11 which we remember as the Vivekananda Chicago Appearance Day, I am very happy to share that we have set up 125 Seva Kutirs (Meals cum Education centres) across highly poverty-stricken tribal pockets in 5 districts of Madhya Pradesh – Dewas, Sehore, Mandla, Sheopur, and Chhindwara. 126 boys from tribal areas of Birbhum district have been admitted into our Residential Institution Parivaar Vivekananda Sevashrama.

A New Milestone

Friends, in a milestone for us last week we have started 2 new residential homes for tribal children in Mandla (Madhya Pradesh) for children Grade 9 onwards (who are exiting out of our Seva Kutirs system). 2 rental properties have been taken in Mandla town (which is the district headquarter) which are housing 60 boys A New Milestone
